Spouse visa financial requirement

Post by Meesha » Mon Jul 01, 2019 9:30 am

Dear forum members,
I need to clarify one thing. Please help me
In order to sponsor a spouse visa for UK national, one must show 6 months payslips earning minimum 18600£/annum. And if it is lesser than £18600, then the difference multiplied by 2.5 in savings for 6 months? Right?

My question is about alternative route to meet financial requirements when no earning is available to show.

Q: Is it 18600 X 2.5= £46500 of savings for 6 months?

Many Thanks in advance

Hi

If you are short of 18600 over 6 months, you can use 12 months, if that does not meet 18600, then you work out what is left over so if you are short by lets say 1000, you then need savings.

It's 18000 I think or 16000 as base amount and then 1000x2.5

So either 18500 or 20500 in savings, someone should be able to clarify that for you, and this will need to be in the account for at least 6 months prior to the application.

£18600×2.5+16000= £62500 savings

Aside from using savings to make short falls, you can also do overtime to make shortfalls by doing the average of all your overtime divide it by 6 x 12 then add this to your salary. How much is your annual salary?

Let say your salary is

18000 -18600= 600
600 x2.5=1500
1500+16000= 17,500 savings needed
My opinions should not be constituted as an immigration or legal advice.

Also if someone's partner is legally working in UK then his/her income can also be used to cover the shortfall (if the applicant is applying from outside UK then only his/her saving can be used not overseas employment)

It means £16000 is required even if one is earning 18600/annum
