Question about financial requirement for spouse visa

Hi guys. Hope all is well.

I am just hoping to get some advice on the financial requirement for a spouse visa.

- I am a UK citizen, born here. My wise is a USA citizen.
-We got married in Pakistan a year ago, and we now share a child together.
- The child we share, has automatic British citizenship due to my status, and I am in the process of applying for his first passport
- I am doing the spouse visa for that my wife in June, and I currently have a salary of £22,000 before tax, the threshold for spouse visa is to be earning £18,600 annually
- My child is automatically British by birth so I don't believe he will be a dependant on the application, as he does not need a visa for the UK, he will have British passport
- if you are applying to bring a spouse and an additional dependant, the financial requirement goes up to £22,400 per year (slightly higher than I earn)
- will this be a problem in my visa application even though my son is a British citizen? Will he still be considered a dependant? Or will the £18,600 financial requirement for spouse without dependant be fine?

Please note I definitely will be mentioning on the application that we share a son, because it will greatly increase us proving we have a genuine marriage.

You won't be required to include your child in the financial calculation. The annual income level will be £18,600 for your wife's spouse visa application.
