Please save my career

Post by cyebele » Thu Jun 14, 2007 6:45 am

Hi all,
My Current Situation: I am from India and have an offer in the United States for an MS degree as well as an offer in MS + PhD programme is Australia. Please provide me your valuable suggestions ASAP.

1) As I have been offered complete scholarship for only the MS research programme in the Australian University . What is the probability that an above average, hardworking student like me can avail the scholarship for the PhD in the Australian University or is this all a marketing gimmick?

2) As I have offers in the US as well as Australia and both the University profiles are similar and decent, which is a better place to go to taking into consideration long term prospects in Information Technology such as job offers, PR etc.?

3) Further, the MS in Australia is 1 and a 1/2 year programme. Is it possible to complete the MS programme in 1 and a ½ years and additionally do another 6 month separate course, which would account for a total of 2 years, so that I can apply for a job permit as a minimum of two years is required in Australia?

4) How easy is it to get a Permanent Residency in Australia compared to the US?

Any responses would be appreciated.
Thanks in Advance.
