Need help on 457 visa isssue

Hi Everyone,
I am new to the forum so please bear with me if I am repeating anything. I am getting very frustrated with this 457 visa system. I have been in Oz for 3 months and the recruiting company that sponsored me does not want to sponsor my wife and child. I have searched the DIMIA website to see what obligations the company has but all it has done is add to my confusion and frustration. What I would like to know is, is the recruiting company obliged by law to sponsor my family as well or is it my responsilibity to arrange some other type of visa for them to join me. I asked the company but they don't want to get involved. They even suggested that I should find a new sponsor. I have approached another company to sponsor me but I don't know what exactly is the process. Can someone please advise what are my options to get my family over here. Also do I have to get another 457 sponsor or can I apply for some other type of visa now that I am already in Oz. All suggestions would be very greatly appreciated.

In my understanding, they do not have to bother to "sponsor" your family - all you do is just to simply include them into the application form and if you qualify for the 457, then your family will be automatically issued the same visas.
So your employer should not even be concerned about it.

In Australia, if you get a new sponsor, you will have to file a new 457 application within 28 days since your previous employer stopped sponsorting you. The 457 visa is only tied to a particular employer. You might wish to explore other options including skilled independent permanent visas.
