What is the Actual date of approval?

Post by billyjoelji » Thu Mar 26, 2009 3:48 pm

I applied for PR in 2007 from USA. In April of 2008, my PR application stage wanted me to do my Medical. They said Once I complete my medical, I will be all clear and get my PR. I did that and finally I got my appoved PR on August 1, 2008. This is what the verbage said.

I am writing to advise that, on 1 August 2008, a decision was taken to grant a Class BQ Subclass 139 Skilled – Designated Area Sponsored to the following applicants:

Here's the Problem line.

Now that visas have been granted the visa holders must make their initial entry to Australia as holders of a Class BQ Subclass 139 Skilled – Designated Area Sponsored by no later than – 4th April 2009.

My Question:

Why do i see the date of entry of April 2009 - I should have 1 year from the date of approval (August 1, 2007), instead of just 8 months.

Was my Visa approved on April 4th last year and were they only waiting for Medical till August?

Date of initial entry is based on when medical and police checks were done.

Did you enter Australia with the visa, or not? If not, they will probably cancel it.
