175 Visa - Work Experience

Post by patrych » Wed Sep 22, 2010 8:42 am

Hello,
I spoke recently to an immigration agent who told me that in order to meet the Recent Work Experience Requirement my work experience needs to be postgraduate, i.e. after I have graduated. Any work experience prior to obtaining academic qualification will not count. Can anyone confirm this?
I have received several days ago a positive assessment from the ACS as an ICT Business Analyst. I have well over three years of experience as a BA but I graduated in IT only in May this year. ACS were happy with my experience even though most of it was prior to graduating. So why would the DIAC not be? I read the immi.gov.au website from top to bottom and I couldn't find the 'postgraduate' experience requirement.
Does anyone have similar experiences?
I'll be grateful for any help.

If you paid a Registered agent for his service than you should also listen to his advice
ACS and DIAC are different bodies and what is valid for ACS might not be necessarily valid for DIAC
