Family visitor visa requirments

Post by rajsin » Wed Apr 02, 2014 5:22 pm

Hello,

I am an Indian national living in the UK on tier 2 visa. I would like to invite my parents to the UK to stay with me for 7 weeks starting from mid June . My parents are Indian nationals residents of UAE. My dad is working full time and mom is housewife.

Please can you let me know what documents required from both ends i.e. me and my parents when applying visitor visa ? Do i have to do anything from the UK to initiate the process?

The problem at the moment is that i am sharing an apartment with my friend, its a 3 bed room apartment and contract is on his name. The 3rd bed room is big enough and its not occupied so my parents would fit in perfectly. But i wanted to know if it is mandatory for me to have house contract on my name when inviting parents?

My tier 2 visa is valid until 2017, however i am married to a EU national so i can become their dependent at any stage but i will change to dependent only after August this year.

Thanks for all your help

Thanks,

Hi Rajsin,

Your parents need
1) Invitation letter from you
2) Sponsorship letter from you (if you are going to bear their expenses in UK)
3) Accommodation arrangements (The best would be to have rental agreement in your name. If not possible then a letter of consent from the landlord mentioning that you and your friend are living in the property and there is an ample space in the property for the two visitors and he/she has no issue if they stay at his/her property during their stay).
5) Property Inspection Report from a solicitor which will confirm the property details ( number of rooms , suitable for accommodation etc).
4) Your bank statements and payslips for the last 6 months (if you are main sponsor).
5) Your dad's last 6 months payslips and bank statements. Attested copies of any property, saving certificates declared on the application form.

You will have to make sure that there is enough money collectively in your and your dad's account to cover their expenses for 7 weeks in UK plus their travelling expenses.

Usually visa officer calculates the expenses by currently defined maintenance funds for PBS migrants which will be £1000 per month from July if you are in inner London and £800 if you are outside. So calculate the amount for your parents accordingly for two months plus travel expenses and should show adequate amount of money accordingly. I hope this will help. I will repost if I remember anything else. All the best for their visa application.

Thanks,
Hassan

Hi Rajsin,
Just an add to my previous post, the amount I mentioned is for Students not for other PBS migrant like tier 2. But you can still work around with this amount and held required fund for adequate amount of time.

Thanks,
Hassan
