Uk Family Permits for Grandparents

Post by confusedinpakistan » Sun Apr 13, 2014 8:31 pm

Hello All,

Not sure if you all remember me and my silly questions about schegen visas, but I now have some more for you.

With all the great help and advice I received here I was able to secure a visa to The Netherlands, and have received my resident permit.

My wife who is the British national has now started a company so we should be applying for a family permit soon.

So here are a few more questions for the gurus.

1) With the new centre of life ruling will it affect us? Essentially my wife was born in the UK, but returned to Pakistan after birth. She never had a bank account or national insurance number (This is the reason we could not procure a spouse visa) Will the centre of life ruling have a large effect on us?

2) Can my parents (I am the non-eu national and my parents are also non eu) also apply for a family permit, if I have them stay with me in the netherlands for 6 months and show that we are supporting them? They are related to the british national as parents in laws, but my children there grandchildren are also british nationals.

3) If all goes well and I can get the family permit for myself, how long will it take until I get a British passport when we are in the UK?

4) What category will I apply under when I get to the UK?

Thanks guys again for all your help
