Urgent!!! Time spend in uk query for british citizenship

Hi Guys

I like this forum because it can solve our problems without spending vast money to solicitors so thanks for being there.

My wife has applied for her citizenship on 24th March on 2014 and home office has received application on 25th March.We got letter on today 10th may having query on two things

1) Home office has received application on 25th March 2014.Now my wife had a trip to india during 14 March 2009 to 14th April 2009.As per home office applicant should be in uk on date 26th March 2009 to be eligible for 5 yr criteria for citizenship.We got letter from home office that they can reconsider the application if we resign the section 6 and send it again.

2) In another query my wife had her father's name in her indian passport and she needed my name on her british passport so that we can use it for my future visa applications Home office is asking for some identity proof for change of name.We don't have any identity proof except marriage certificate can we use as marriage certificate as a proof?

We need to reply home office before 25th May.

Yes resign and send ensuring that your wife was present in the UK 5 years before they receive the application, I assume you're not British. Yes a marriage certificate should suffice.

Thanks for replying.Just want to ask one thing is it possibke to change name in her british passport.I mean to say that if we can continue with her father's name for this application and if we can change to my name in passport application.

How do you feel about this?

You can change your name with a marriage certificate. You should use the same name everywhere.
