Claiming Child Benefit after ILR

Post by theaviator380 » Mon Jun 02, 2014 11:35 am

Dear All,

This forum has always been of great help. Thanks to all those people who contribute their valuable experience, opinion and suggestions. Special Thanks to all moderators and Guru.

I was granted ILR 2 weeks ago. I am applying for Child Benefit soon. I have gone through the PDF form. I have following queries.

1. I was born in India so as my wife and my child, (Residing in the UK since 2006) do I need to click – Always lived in the UK?

2. If I click NO then it prompts me to tell whether I was subject to immigration control 3 months ago. Which I was because my ILR was granted in May 2014.

Sorry it may be simple but confusing me. Can anyone please guide me on this? I need to know how to complete this section please.

Thank you.

Select no, and then yes. You have to send proof of your immigration status anyway so they will see. If there is a section for additional information, add it there.

I am also sure that there is a question, after the ones you are asking about, that asks about ILR date etc.

Hello CR001

Thanks for your prompt reply, appreciated. I will select No then Yes. Please have a look at this, I have pasted those particulates from the form itself.

Did you arrive in the UK in the last 3
months?
* Yes No = No

Are you subject to immigration
control?
* Yes No = No

Have you been subject to
immigration control at any time in
the last 3 months? * Yes No = Yes? Because 3 months ago I was Tier-1 General.

Date your immigration status was
granted eg dd mm yyyy = Date I was granted ILR ?

Is that correct CR001? Please let me know.

Thanks again.

The form is a bit misleading and not clear. Fill in your ILR grant date and provide documentary proof of ILR.
