Urgent! Passport got soaked, do I need to transfer my EEAFP?

Post by Mrs.mdeben » Mon Jul 07, 2014 12:35 am

Hi everyone!

Unfortunately, my passport got soaked, still looks fine but there are some little ink spillage from my old visas and the bio page has discoloration. Well, my photo has discoloration now, my skin is brown and now its a bit pale because of water. I will apply for EEA2 soon (suppose to be this week) but I guess I need to do it once I get my new passport. I don't want to risk submitting my application then they will refuse it after 6 months because of invalid identity document which is my passport.

Do I need to transfer my EEAFP to the new passport or I can just submit both of them with a cover letter stating how stupid I am, lol.

Please advice me.

What a hysterical story, I busted into laughter at the sight of this, I thought you hadn't used your EEA-FP yet, that would even make it more funny, you shoud get a new Passport before submitting your EEA2.

I know right. Haha. Funny thing is, I went to the loo before I went to my job interview, put my bag at the sink and I completely forgot that the tap is with the infrared system so when I finished washing my hand, i took my bag found out that its full of water. Oh ago, I dont know if I will cry or laugh that time.

Do I need to transfer my EEA FAMILY PERMIT to the new passport or just send both of them?

No, you don't need to do that, more so, EEA-FP cannot be issued or reissued to you from inside the UK, you should only concentrate on submitting your EEA2.

Alright then, thanks for the quick reply.

I was trying to find some information about transferring my eea family permit and I found out that it cost 107 pounds and it might take several months. I cant be bother doing that as I need to apply for EEA2 soon.

I would be very much interested to know where you got the information from, it is my understanding that, FP cannot be transferred from inside the UK, and even if it were to be, there would be no charges involved.

Found it from the gov.uk website. Try checking TOC and you will find the informations about transferring visa from old to new passport.

That information does not apply to you, you do not have a visa, you have an FP. you cannot also transfer FP from inside.

What is this?????????????

This is irrelevant for EEA FP.
EEA family permit issued overseas not in the UK.
In UK you have to apply residence card (EEA2 form) not FP.
If any mess happened in your passport then simply apply for the replacement of your passport and then sent a application for residence card under EU regulations.

But if your family permit was issued under UK immigration laws then you can follow the TOC procedure.
Hope you understand the difference between EU regulations and uk immigration laws.
