Adult dependent relative - Upper tier tribunal appeal

Post by Mr_N » Wed Jul 16, 2014 5:14 pm

Hi all,

I have recently had an appeal at the first tier tribunal (on the 27th June 2014) which was dismissed 2 weeks later. My solicitor has already lodged an appeal at the upper tier tribunal yesterday (15/07/2014) and currently waiting for a hearing date. Do you know approximately how long after the hearing date will be? I have not yet received the refusal letter from the FT but should do in a day or so. I also wanted to know, what are the chances of the appeal being successful? Is it worth it to push and continue fighting or give up and start afresh in Mauritius? Are there new fees to pay when appealing to the upper tier tribunal?

My case is based on the fact that all relatives (immediate and extended) reside in UK and this includes my sisters, mother, step father, cousins and so on. I was married to a British citizen and received the 27 months temporary resident visa in 2012 but our relationship broke down a few months after having arrived in England. ( we were married and residing in Mauritius for approximately 4 years before that). I was due to get the ILR next month (august 2014) had we still been married.

Thank you all in advance.
