Hi all,
PEO appointment fast approaching! I'm on a Tier 1 (General) visa. I was out of the country for 30, 31, 29, 75, 12 days over the five years. Slightly nervous about the year with 75 days absence because I did some travel and went home for compassionate reasons between jobs. I work contracts so this wasn't an issue for me at all, but I didn't realise at the time that cause a problem in terms of proving continuous residence. Anyone else been in this position?
Currently I have:
- completed application form
- current and former passport
- 2 passport photos
- current BRP
- letter from HMRC showing 5 years of earnings
- 12 months payslips and bank statements
- Life in the UK certificate
- letters from 4 of 5 previous employers, mostly saying they didn't keep paper records of annual leave but confirming the number of days I was entitled to
- letter from me about the 5th employer, which folded so I couldn't get a letter. Also confirming I haven't done any international business travel through work in the 5 years
- letter from me explaining my travel for compassionate reasons and stating that the UK is my sole home, that I've been economically active the five years etc
- death certificate (explaining compassionate travel)
- letter from surgeon (explaining compassionate travel)
- my birth certificate showing I'm related to both family members
Should I also write a letter listing each of my absences and where the relevant stamps are in my passport, and provide email confirmation of flights/ferries etc for trips abroad where I don't have stamps in my passport? Or am I getting into the realm of annoying over-documentation?
Thanks in advance!
