claiming benefits.

Post by migrant80 » Tue Aug 12, 2014 6:40 pm

hi all
i have got my ILR recently.wife and 2 kids (1 born in uk 2nd in pak)are waiting for there dependent visas.
my wife not working.my monthly income avg 800 after tax.
which benefits can i apply on my own i.e not harming family's future ilr application?
council advised me that i can apply HB even i told them that my wife will have a dependent visa and will have no recourse to
public funds.officer told me although they have to mention my wife's name in application but it will be a claim on my name
and will not be a breach of her visa conditions.
also should i include my wife name on tenancy agreement or not?
anyone plz help me in this matter and guide me .
many thanks

Dear Forum members!

I have got my ILR recently. My wife got 2.5 years dependant visa (with no public fund). I have sent our only son's MN1 application form.

My question is:
Can i claim child benefit while i am awaiting my son's MN1 outcome?
If so, will it affect my wife's ILR application in the future?

I would really appreciate your advice.

Hi everyone I need some help here.

I am appealing based on article 8 I have a British wife and child and my wife also has a child from a previous relationship so they wont expect us to move to my own country also because they are british.

I do have a problem as my wife is claiming housing benefit and council tax reduction because I had to stop work due to my visa application being considered before refusal.

Will this benefit claim be a problem at the tribunal when I go for hearing?

Thank you
