Exceeding Permitted Absences from the UK in 5 Year QP

Good evening,

I am a EU Citizen and would very much appreciate some advice on naturalisation as a British citizen.

I arrived in the UK in March 2009 as a student and would now like to apply for British citizenship as I plan to stay here in the long-term. My problem with that is that I've spent more days outside the UK than permitted in booklet AN.
In the last 5 years I have spent 595 days outside the UK (permitted 450 days, less than 480 days normally disregarded). The majority of these were in the first few years of my residency here. In the past 12 months I have spent less than 60 days outside the UK (90 days permitted). I have never applied for any official documents and stayed here under EU law.
Does anyone know whether there is a chance of success if I applied for citizenship? (Form AN). I meet all other eligibility requirements and have read booklet AN.
I would be very thankful about any further information or experiences (even negative ones).

Surely you can't apply now and you will need to wait till March 2015 (completing 6 years of residence).

For your time as a student, have you had private health insurance or non UK EHIC? This is required by EEA students in order to count that time for PR.

I didn't know about the 6 years but it makes sense. I'd still like to find out as much about the process and my chances as possible now.
I've had private health insurance from my home-country throughout and still have this now. Even though I have an NHS number and I am registered with a GP here.

After 5 years under EEA regulations, you obtain PR status. You need to hold PR for 1 year before applying for Bc (unless married to BC). That's where the 6 years come from.

However for the application only the last 5 year count so from March 2010 - March 2015, how many days of absence will you have?

Not married, so that doesn't apply. In that time frame I'll still have about 570 days outside the UK. So assume my chances wouldn't be too good. Am I right?
