British Passport for children born abroad

Post by Sreedev » Mon Sep 29, 2014 10:09 am

Hello.

I am due for my ILR in Jan 2015 and my wife is due her ILR in May 2015 (i believe but need to confirm). Both my daughters were born outside UK. I wanted to understand if they can apply directly for British passport when my wife is applyting for her ILR or do they have to wait for another year?

ALso if they have to wait can they apply for the passport when I apply for mine (Jan-Feb 2016) or should both parents have passports for the children to obtain their passport?

Appreciate all responses and do let me know in case more information is required.

Thanks
Sreedev

Hi

If they were born outside UK they need and ILR as far as I know.

Please go through this:

Being British is a state of mind.
