How does an EEA2 rejection affect Family Permit?

I am currently on a Family Permit visa that's due to expire early next year. My partner is an EU national, and we are unmarried. If my EEA2 application gets rejected on the basis that our relationship isn't genuine, and I choose not to appeal, can I stay in the country until my Family Permit expires or will I have to leave the country immediately after I receive the rejection letter?
