i came to UK as a student on 21/04/2001 then after I got maried to a polish girl and I got depended visa from september 2003 to january 2007 after januaray 2007 i have had work permit which will be expired January 2012 by the way i have been working for the same company since april 2003 to present i was just wondering will I be eligible to apply to indefinite leave to remain once i have completed 5 years continuous employment in the UK.

No. Only after 5 years employment on the work permit.

hi my frind is married to a french girl but they are not getting on well with eacho other now and he is thinking of diforse. He is o Spouse 5 year visa. Could you explain how did you get a work permit after divorse.
He is thinking of alternatives and will be glad for any advise.
