I got my ILR on 04/04/2014. I will be applying for Naturalization in April. I want to know how many days before 1 year anniversary of ILR, am I allowed to apply ? Main reason is to avoid the fees increase from 6th April. For example, if I apply through NCS on Friday 02/04/2015 would that cause any problem. Or is it strictly that I have to apply on or after 05/04/2015. Its just a matter of 2 days !

3 years means in total like ILR granted after 2 years and then 1 year after ILR granted so in total 3 years. N the day you submit your application so from that day she should have been in uk for 3 years before. E.g if application is going to be submitted on march 15 2015 so she should be in uk from 15 march 2012 .

I will be applying based on 5 year in the UK of which ILR was granted on 04/04/2014. So I dont understand this 3 year rule you've mentioned. What I have read elsewhere is that you have to be on ILR 12 months before you can apply for naturalization. My question is if applying 2 or 3 days before 12 months would it cause any issue ? Lets say I apply through NCS on 02/04/2015 ?

I am in the similar situation. I got my ILR on the 02 Apr 2014 so want to apply on 1st April to avoid new fees given its long weekend.
I called the council and they said they wouldn't accept my application before 2nd April but I can post it directly if I want. Haven't decided yet what to do. Will be calling couple of other councils as well.

Forgot to mention. They also said that they haven't been notified on any fees increase yet but when they do they also normally get notified of last day they can take the application at the old fees.

3 years old rule is for spouses who got married to BC. the requirement is that when you have been granted ILR so you need to wait for 1 year which is 12 months after which you can apply thats simple to understand. You cant apply before 1 year completion after granted ILR . I hope I made it clear for you thanks.

You've still got a chance...why don't you book an appointment for 02 April 2015 which is Thursday ? Bank holidays on Friday, 03 April 2015.
The fees WILL increase from 6th April 2016 as there is an indicative fees increase document out already:

Yes I have already got an appointment for 2nd April Thursday but council told me Saturday delivery isn't guaranteed so I am still gonna ask around with couple more councils if they will take the application on 1st if they don't its OK.

Technically they have to wait for min of 1 year from the date you got your ILR - Not sure NCS will take the chances accepting application before that and even if they did (lets say they didnt ask questions and you didnt mention), when you show up, they might still send you back. This is a grey area for lot of people who have their Naturalisation eligibility falling around these dates!
An [Expensive] Immigrant journey has ended 19/08/2015. Good luck to you all out there...
