Family Visitor Visa: Finances and Employment

Post by prabhakaran » Mon May 04, 2015 9:27 pm

Hi,

My parents are planning to visit me in the UK and I am puzzled, what to answer ('Yes' or 'No') to the following question.

a) If someone other than yourself is paying for all or any part of this visit, how much money will they give you?

Flight tickets will be covered by my parents and I will be covering their accommodation and living expenses when they are in UK, and this is what we have answered

The cost of the aeroplane, boat or train tickets 500 GBP
The cost of your accommodation C/O SON
The cost of your living expenses C/O SON
Is someone other than you paying for all or a part of your trip? No

Have we answered it right?

Or, do we have to say 'Yes' for 'Is someone other than you paying for all or a part of your trip?' and tell how much money I am prepared to spend for their expenses while they are in the UK?

Please kindly help me by clarifying my doubts.

With regards,
Prabhakaran

I think they should say "yes" as you are paying their living expenses and providing accommodation.

Don't forget to include their strong ties to their home country to demonstrate their intention to depart the UK at the end of thier visit and return home.

Thank you. Can you please also help me with the following query.

My mother is not employed nor does she has her own business, but she gets some income from rent and interest from lending. Will my mother be considered as self-employed? or Do we have to say she is un-employed and declare the earning from rent and interest in the question 'Do you have savings, properties or other income, for example from stocks and shares?'

Hi all,

I got my British passport a couple of months ago and I want my mom to come and visit me in the UK for 2 months. I am employed full time, but due to various reasons, my account balance is negative. My mom has money in her savings account and she will be paying for her tickets and other living expenses. She will be living with me in my flat so she does not have any accommodation expenses.

My question is, do I need to have balance in my account to sponsor my mom's visit visa and if yes, how much? All help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
