Referee relationship urgent help

Hi Guys,

I have plan to apply for Naturalization next week through NCS and i have open question on the refree relationship , in section 5.2 it mention "Say how you know the applicant"
can referee mention the applicant as "family friend" or does it going to be taken as relative as according to the guide it should not be relative.

appreciate any guidence.

Family friend is fine, if the referee is NOT actually a relative.

When HO say relative, they mean brother, sister, aunt, uncle, etc or relative through marriage like sister-in-law, etc.
