2 months Travelling after Naturalisation Submission

Post by Nitro » Mon Jun 15, 2015 12:46 pm

Hello all,

I have recently submitted my Naturalisation application and waiting for biometrics. I would like to travel straightaway after that to home country for 8 week/2 months.

Is that acceptable ? I am I allowed be out of country for 2 months whilst my application is being processed ? I can see from the tracker that applications are taking more than 3 or more for processing now, so I believe it should be ok ?

I will have my mate here who will keep an eye on my letters etc in my absence

Please can some experts advise?

Regards
Nitro

I wouldn't. you will need to do biometrics and so if they send the biometric letter while ur on holiday and don't do it, they may reject your application.

You can travel but make sure someone is checking your post/mail in case you get a letter asking for documents, to redo biometrics, approval, ceremony invitation etc.

Stick to the rules, make sure it doesn't add up to 90 days in 12 months. Also ask a friend to have your mail checked every week.

This is not relevant if the person travels AFTER submitting his application, which is the case of the person asking.

Finally, someone with Flashing Green Light :)

Thanks CR001. I will have my mate who shall look after my posts etc on my absence. Will I be having any issues travelling back on ILR at the airport? I mean I have travelled number of times on ILR with no issues but as my naturalisation application will be in process, is there anything I need to consider whilst coming back due to this ?

Your ILR remains valid so you can enter the UK with your foreign passport and BRP without any problems. You are only British once you attend your ceremony, so no issues using ILR while you have a pending application for citizenship.

Travelling abroad after submitting your naturalization is not an issue. I travelled twice after submitting my application and there wasn't any issue. Yes you need to arrange some one to keep an eye on your posts in your absence
