450 days count confirmation

Post by achilleasatha » Fri Jul 10, 2015 5:12 pm

Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to confirm the number of days, any one person has been outside the UK, for the purposes of a naturalization application. From what I gather over the past 5 years I have been absent for about ~490 days, but I only got this number counting very roughly as I can't find any proof of the dates I entered or left the country. I reckon that at the moment I am cutting it very close for the application requirements. I am pretty sure that every time I have traveled abroad I have taken a plane and that every time I have used the electronic scanners in the airports. Is there an archive from where I can possibly retrieve the dates I entered/left the country? If not, how am I supposed to provide proof of when I entered/left the country?

Many thanks!

wherever you travelled outside UK, they must have stamped your passport. check the stamps in your passport.

@PrestonLancs, From the fact that he does not have proof of the days and that he used the electronic scanners (e-passport gates?) at the airport, I would guess that the OP is an EEA national.

If you have taken flights, you would have ticket confirmations and/or boarding passes, typically in the form of emails. It may be worth trawling through your emails to see if you can locate the tickets and/or boarding passes.

Remember that the date of the flights to and from the UK do not count, only the whole days spent entirely outside the UK.

Yes I am indeed an EEA and I don't think I have traveled at any time during the past 5 years outside the EEA. As such I have no stamps on my passport. I scoured my emails and asked around friends and family for as many dates as I could, but as of yet I am still missing quite a few. Is there any way possibly to request a record from the Border Agency from the e-passport gates or something similar?

Many thanks!
