TOC processing times

I am presently on a Tier 2 general visa. I have recently applied for a TOC as I changed my name. Does anyone have an idea of the recent processing timelines?

I have already submitted my fingerprints for Biometrics about a month ago. Their official correspondence to me states that the UKBA will decide upon my application within 8 weeks time which is up on 7th August. I need to arange for urgent travel in end of August and am unsure whether to make travel arranements or not?

Hi, I am currently in a similar situation waiting for a BRP (TOC) response on a spouse visa. I have to travel for work on the 7th of Jan and the 8 weeks processing will have passed as of 25th December but I have yet to get a letter or documents back. Can you tell me if you got your BRP with the new name within the 8 week window they stated? Thank you!
