Dual citizenship?

Hello,
I am soon coming 18 years old and I am a Polish citizen. I've been living in Northern Ireland for 8 years now and it's time for me to renew my passport. I've heard a lot of rumours that with a British passport there are lower travel costs in future and it is easier to obtain visa.

So my question is, is it better for me to become a British citizen and reject my Polish citizenship for good or will it cost problems in future? I'm not planning to return to Poland in my future but I will be moving to New Zeland after university.

This is a very important consideration. As a British citizen within the UK, EEA regulations cease to apply.

As an aside, I have read (on the Wikipedia article on Polish Citizenship) that Polish citizenship is notoriously difficult to lose. You may want to research into this.

If you were born in Northern Ireland, you could also be an Irish citizen unknowingly.

Being a British citizen may make a move to New Zealand easier.

You are eligible for a Working Holidaymaker visa in New Zealand as a citizen of either Poland or the UK. But the terms and conditions for the UK are more generous than those for Poland.

And of course, in time, you could acquire a Kiwi passport.

You could be, with the efflux of time, a multiple citizen of the UK, Poland, Ireland and New Zealand.
