Please help! Biometric appt question

Post by calizzy » Tue Oct 20, 2015 3:17 pm

Hi,
When I attended the biometric screening appointment my photo was taken. It was not printed out, just digital. Do I need to submit an additional photo with my visa application, or is this photo the one that is needed?

You should have sent one with the visa application when you sent your passport and other necessary documentation post which you would have got the Biometric appointment.

What do you mean "which you would have got at the biometric appointment?" Do you mean that I would have gotten the photo at the biometric appointment? I am in the US, and my biometric appointment was done by US officials, not UK. I'm not sure if that is how it is done in other countries. Here they do not give you a photo, they take the photo, but it just remains "in the system" it is not printed out.

Have you submitted your documentation yet? It clearly states you need passport photos (2) to include in the application along with all other docs (passport, maintenance bank statements, whatever else is relevant to your situation). These, obviously, cannot be the same exact photo as your biometric photo. This photo (and your fingerprints) were transmitted directly to the New York Embassy.

The other poster was referring to non-US appointments (and it would take too many words for me to explain it in a short amount of time).

Yes, I mailed the application yesterday with priority processing. I thought that the biometric photo was the photo that was needed. What should I do?

Possibilities:

1.) Sometimes they will send you an email asking for additional documentation.

2.) Contact us

You can contact our International Enquiry Service provided by Hinduja Global Solutions who work in partnership with UK Visas and Immigration. Emailing the service is free, speaking directly to an advisor costs £1.37 per minute and a 10 minute webchat will cost £4.

From the US dial 1-888-683-9699. Opening hours are 7am to 4pm EDT. Calls can be handled in English or Spanish.

3.) The processing of your visa may be delayed and your application refused.

Others may have some useful suggestions, but passport photos are even in the tick-list at the end of the application indicating docs to include. There was even a box where you staple the pic into (last time I checked)!

I called the uk immigration phone number and the lady told me that I did not need to submit an additional photo. So I guess I will just wait and see what happens.
