family visitor visa and medical checkup

Post by info-seeker » Tue Dec 01, 2015 11:41 am

hello all

I am applying for a visitor visa for my wife and baby (5 months born in india). When she visited me last time in UK she was pregnant and she had an appointment at the Accident & Emergency as she had some personal issues.

But then they told us to register with a local GP and see a midwife to get diagnosed. Also we had to do one scanning and blood test as part of this. Luckily she didn't have any problems and she left UK without any treatments apart from those mentioned.

They offered us option to have free medicins and treatments(eg: dental) for the Mum but we didn't take any of them.

I am worried the fact that UKBA might reject my application as she had to visit GP/Register with Surgery from UK when she was a visitor in this country.

I called the surgery today to check if I need to pay anything and they told they can't see any payments due on their system. But when I asked them to give me a letter confirming this they said they can't do that.

Could anyone guide me on this please. I really want to know what precaution I should take inorder to get my application successful.

Many thanks in advance

If she was in the UK on a visitors visa, she is not entitled to ANY free use of the NHS and has to pay private patient rates. You will need to sort this out before applying for a visitor visa again as the question is asked in the form and UKVI can check.

What is your immigration status?

Thank you very much CR001. I really appreciate your quick reply.

I am on a tier2 visa in UK. She visited me on a normal 6 months family visitor visa.
Initially I planned for a dependent visa but she was pregnant that time and I couldn't get her x-ray done and that is why I went for a visitor visa.

I am planning for my visa extension in another few weeks. Should I wait until I sort my visa application before I do her application(if it is a 6 months family visitor visa).

If I am doing a dependent application do I need to do tb test for baby if so does that need to be x-ray?

Could you also please tell me which UKVI link or email I need to follow to make an inquiry about this.

Many thanks
