Documents for Tier 2 dependent ext application outside UK

Post by Suresh1234 » Sun Jan 17, 2016 6:46 pm

Hello

Initially my wife received Tier 2 dependent Visa from July 2014 to Jan 2016. She had to travel back to India in July 2015 as her parents parents were not feeling well.

Now I have extended my Tier 2 visa in UK and I would like to apply for Tier 2 visa for my wife to re-enter UK again. I understood that this will be a new entry clearance application for my wife as extension is not allowed from outside UK.

The documents which i have submitted during initial entry clearance are as below:
- Marriage certificate
- My passport and visa copy
- Maintenance bank statement
- Letter from employer

I am going to submit above documents again for the new entry clearance. Along with that, I am going to submit following additional documents:
- Phone call history
- Money transfer details
- Electricity Bill (which shows both of our name)

My question is:
Is there any other documents I should include for new entry clearance like council tax bill etc??

Thanks for your help in advance.

I'm really surprised that chat history and call details too are becoming the norm these days (not sure if it's mentioned in the T2 guidance or not). That's personal life and not official records, so why would UKVI bother with such info (am I being a bit silly here?)

Sorry not being very helpful here, but just wondering
Dependent's application requirements should be quite clear in the T2 guidance.
My advice is based on personal research/experience, so pls check relevant UKVI sources.

Thanks for your reply...

In my case myself and my wife stayed together for 1 year in UK (till July 2015) and thereafter she has been staying in India (so there is a gap of 8 months).

So I am bit confused about the possible documents required to prove the genuine relationship and Tier 2 guidance is not so clear on this matter related to proving genuine relationship.

In that case probably a covering letter which describes the reason for her going back to her home country may add value. About her parents health situation (and some medical records, as evidence if possible)..but that's just my opinion.

Others who had similar experience may add more value probably.
My advice is based on personal research/experience, so pls check relevant UKVI sources.

Home office has infact started asking proof showing that your relationship (especially if you are living separately from your spouse for a longer duration) is still subsisting. I have personally seen a case recently which was rejected and the rejection letter specifically asked the applicant to submit proofs such as photos together, call logs and so on. I guess there have been cases where people have misused the dependent route and hence the tightening.

Btw, @Suresh - the list of documents looks okay. The letter as suggested would do no harm .

Hello Srsw, Moonlght55.

Thanks for your answers.

My wife dependent visa issued initially is valid till 23 Feb 2016 and as explained above, she is in India since July 2015.

I have extended my Tier 2 general Visa on 15th Jan 2016.

My question is:

Whether my wife is allowed to travel to UK on current visa validity and extend the Tier 2 visa separately within UK ? I am thinking of making an application from within UK rather than from India. Does this helps in anyway to avoid complexity?

Also anyone has got any idea about applying in this way?

Thanks for your answers in advance.

The list of documentation to be submitted still remains the same.

As I understand, if your spouse was in UK, you could have applied for an extension visa separately for her anytime before 23 Feb. No issues in that. However, since she was outside UK when you extended you visa, I'm not sure if she can still travel on the old visa. Maybe some of the seniors here or someone who has undergone such a situation can confirm.
