ILR due Jan - can I travel?

Post by pokes » Fri Dec 14, 2007 10:57 am

My ILR is due in third week of January - current leave to remain is until 13 February on a work permit.

Can I travel abroad in Dec last week and return by 3 January? Or is there a requirement that one should have at least six months period on the visa to travel and return to the UK?

Grateful for any expert advice.

You can travel without problem. You can enter UK as long as you have 1 day validity in your visa. This was stated to me by an immigration officer when I asked same question in airport.

The 3 month visa validity rule applies when you apply for Schengen or other visa from UK.
