Hello, it's to my understanding that you can apply close to end of RC.

You can apply for confirmation of PR as soon as you have acquired PR.
That may or may not coincide with the expiry of a RC you have.

Just because a RC is about to expire doesn't mean you have acquired PR;
what is your timeline & sponsor's activity in UK?

I really appreciate your input.
Arrived in UK in March 2011 then applied to RC. The RC was issued in July. Question is: Am I a resident since March 2011 (the date of Arrival) or when after the RC was issued? Other than that everything is fine regarding their requirement for applying for PR.

Assuming you are married, when is the latest of your 5th wedding anniversary and 5th year of residence in UK?

Married in 2010. But living together longer with a 9 and 3 year old daughter.

If married in 2010 and arrived in UK in March 2011 then you may acquire PR around now, by March/April 2016.

That is assuming your sponsor has exercised treaty rights continuously (since 2011) and any absences from UK (by you and/or your sponsor) were kept within prescribed limits.
