Reg: HSMP Refusal bcoz of English language requirement..

Post by msudang » Fri Feb 01, 2008 5:59 pm

Hi,

I have recently applied for my HSMP and i received a communication letter from hsmp team stating that my hsmp application was refused. Reason was not providing letter from university for Medium of study as english, (i have tried to show my bachelors degree as evidence for my medium of study was in English)

The Bachelor degree certificate that I provided clearly states that the medium of course was taught in English(Printed in the middle of my certificate as Medium: English) which is a sufficient evidence for English language requirement. and i have specified the same in my covering letter so that they cannot feel that i didn't send a separate letter. Still unfortuntely it went for rejection

Now iam going to ask them to reconsider their decision in this regard, before asking them i want to take advice from you so that i can be thru this time atleast..

Please help me as i have only one day left to send my Request !!!

Thanks in Advance ...

Thanks,
Madhu

Msudan

Sorry to hear you rejection, but you would have avoided this unnecessary rejection if you read this forum. There have been many discussions about this.

I believe you just waste your time asking for consideration. There have been a lot of evidence people with stronger case than you still got rejection. But you could always try your luck ....

My suggestion you had better file another application with IELT scoe in hand.

Dear msudang,

They go by rules and not by morality or common sense. This we have to keep in mind always

If you read the case worker guidelines it clearly states that only IELTS / letter from university in letter head is accepted as evidence (in addition to degree certificate)

CaseWorker guidance not mentioned anything about the alternative scenario like one of yours.

If they would have accepted words in degree certificate as evidence then they should have mentioned that in caseworker guidance / application form guidance

If anything not mentioned in caseworker guidance, provided by us as evidence there is more than 95% chances for rejection

all the best in your next application

Hi Madhu,
It was bound for rejection as you did not provide letter from your university. What will you tell HO, why did they reject it.

If you've gained sufficient point, please re-apply immediately, it would cost u 400 gbp extra which is worth approval. Yes, do get university letter for english in proper format- dont take it lightly.

Bachelor Convocation degree

Post by arunhsmp » Sat Feb 02, 2008 4:56 am

Guys,

I have been misguided really bad and i didnt follow this blog which is great. I applied with my provisional degree and letter from university to confirm that the medium of langauge was english but i did not write exceptional reason for not having the Convocation degree. I have succesfully gained 75 points.

I need to apply again and put an FLR without a approval letter as my current visa is running out. The exceptional reason i can place is that the convocation was awarded on 18th dec 2004 and that time i was here in UK as a student(I can prove it with my passsport stamps), i have applied for the degree at Mumbai univ recently but seems like it will take a while as it always, i might not have time to wait for this. I have got my orignial transcript and i am also getting a letter from the univ stating that when the convocation was awarded i was not present and i have reapplied also it is not present to give him the degree straighaway due to our process. YOU THINK THIS WOULD BE OK?? I next IELTS test avalible is 16 th FEB and it takes 2 weeks for the test to come through.

GUYS PLS HELP it is a risk of £800 i am taking but cannot afford to go to India and get this done. ANY SUGGESTION WELCOME. ANYbody got another way to get this degree from Mumbai Univ i am willing to pay any amount.

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Dear arun,
In the scenario of where original degree is not awarded but provisional certificate is awarded. As per caseworker guidelines two things must be satisfied to proove the educational backround under exceptional consideration.

1. You should have submitted both your transcript (i.e, mark/ grade sheet) and Provisional Certificate (Or letter from university in letter headed paper stating that your degree has been awarded)

2. Very very important thing is (many will usually use to fail here), that Provisional Certificate / Letter from University should state that Degree has been ‘granted’/‘conferred’/‘awarded’

Usually in Provisional degree certificate we cant find those words and it is usually used to be in final degree certificate. That is the reason many will wait till they get final degree to apply. Or if our provisional degree certificate is not having those words you should get a letter from university confirming your degree with those words.

If the above 2 points are satisfied by you (in addition to english language letter)

Then you can apply for FLR

If not, sorry I have to again stress that they will go only by rules and not by morality or common sense. Then its your luck if you really get a nice caseworker
