FLR(M) Apply online versus Printed form

Hi,

I am british citizen and looking to apply for wife's extension next month. After printing out the latest form (Dec 2016 version) I realised, there is an online option:

Could anyone please advise what are the differences/advantages and disadvantages. I prefer to do it online due to simplicity, extra validation and so on... but there seem to be more questions compared to the printed out form. i.e. so far I had to type in each and every holidays we've had during the last 2.5 years which I didn't notice in the printed form.
