If u leave the UK for more than 2 years (short visits back UK not included) you lose your ILR

I have no idea how the UK knows when u leave/how long away etc.

There are no minimum stays - it is an INDEFINITE leave to remain.

But, the assumption in an ILR is that you are intending to settle in the UK.

So, if you leave the country for more than 2 years, your ILR will may lapse

But UK immigration able to check in their system. When you leave UK, they did record it down.

Unless you have a British spouse, 12 months after being granted ILR you can apply for British citizenship, assuming you meet the standard requirements. You can only apply for a British passport once you've been granted citizenship.

Thank you for your reply.
One more question:
So the process will be like
3 years of Tier 2 working visa + 2 years of Tier 2 working visa (a total of 5 year), eligible to apply for ILR.
Then after ILR (1 year), can apply for British citizenship/British passport.

Am I correct?
