You would have got a pdf version of completed online form. The very first page will give the category you have selected. That is actually among the very first questions when you start the online application. But to confirm see the first page of PDF.dalaremal wrote: ↑Fri Jan 25, 2019 10:41 amHello and good morning!
My timeline is as follow:
I got tier1 entrepreneur visa in 50K category, on 9th January 2014. I converted this into tier 2 general visa on 23rd September 2016. During my stay on tier 1 entrepreneur, I created two jobs, paid taxes and everything related. The only thing, which I could not do unfortunately, was the investment of 50K, only managed to invest a sum of 42K. The reason for not investing in full was that I changed my tier 1 entrepreneur to tier2 general visa before the expiry of tier 1 entrepreneur visa’s tenure.
Currently, I am on tier 2 general visa since 23rd September 2016, earning the required salary.
I applied online on 24/01/19 although we selected set(o) form but it did not ask about my salary and soc code and at the end it only was giving me the option for the standard application fee that is 2408.20£ and not for that 24 hour decision option.
I have paid 2408.20£ now and have not booked the appointment yet. I am just wondering what to do next I mean how to see that we have selected the right option in set (o) i.e. tier 2 G?
should i withdraw the application and start a new one? If yes, will i be able to get the refund please!
By selecting 'Other' you have obviously applied in the completely wrong category as this is only for Discretionary Leave visa holders and Ancestry Visa holders, both different rules and non Points Based.dalaremal wrote: ↑Fri Jan 25, 2019 12:11 pmthanks for the reply
exactly i have selected the wrong category i selected "other" rather than tier2 migrant.
Now, what should i do as i am not getting the 24 hours decision option any chance i can change the standard service to 24 hours decision option ? and will it be enough to write a cover letter what has gone wrong?
Unfortunately you actually have made a blunder. But things happen in life. Just face it now. You have selected the wrong category and unfortunately you can not edit the form after you submit it.dalaremal wrote: ↑Fri Jan 25, 2019 2:38 pmI am thanking you again!
To be very honest I am too much confused I have sent an email to the home office immigrations yesterday and have not heard anything back from them yet.
Being a very senior member on this group, would you like any suggestion in my case please I am really desperate!
the problem with correcting the category by hand is that it does not change the questions the form asks, which for 'other' would be very different to tier 2 general.tier11417 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 25, 2019 2:49 pmUnfortunately you actually have made a blunder. You can try printing out the form and manually correct the category with a pen and write a cover letter and upload with your documents.
I think, you might face a delay, but a CW might acknowledge your request.
If you withdraw, its uncertain you will get a refund, so its a risk both ways.
You have to take a decision on your own.
Correct. What you can do is. Run a correct application with Tier 2 general. It takes 10 min to complete the form. You dont have to submit the application to get a pdf version. You can get even before that. Dont submit it. Just take the pdf version of the correct category and upload with the documents with a cover letter. Thats the best what I can think of.CR001 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 25, 2019 2:51 pmthe problem with correcting the category by hand is that it does not change the questions the form asks, which for 'other' would be very different to tier 2 general.tier11417 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 25, 2019 2:49 pmUnfortunately you actually have made a blunder. It wont have any effect. You can always explain the reason of withdrawal in the cover letter with the new application. But you would have to pay twice and uncertain if you will get a previous refund.
He cannot book an appointment based on the category he has submitted. He only has option of postal I believe.tier11417 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 25, 2019 2:53 pmCorrect. What you can do is. It’s not that long. You’ll see some options that ll help you make up ur mind.
Mother comes first. Withdraw application apply new one 24 hour service and then chase for the refund of previous one. If you can afford. Just my opinion.
Absolutely well said!! I am pretty sure you will get a refund as your mother is behind you!
