Hi,
I applied for naturalization on 24th January 2019 and had my biometrics taken in the Post Office on 25th January. I also sent my original documents, including passport, from the same Post Office as per the instructions written on the check list which I uploaded after my online application submission. I didn't know about any other services before I found this forum, so that I could leave my passport and BRC with me. I just followed the provided instructions.

At the moment, I need to get my passport and BRC back as soon as possible because I'm having an urgent business trip in two weeks.
I've found a return documents service provided by HO on they website and applied online. Once I submitted the request on 25th February, their web page said that I had to receive an automatic email with confirmation. BUT I still haven't received it and don't know whether they know about it or not.
What shall I do as the business trip is very important for my future job. Without it I can lose my job. Please advise?

You need to fill in the form online and submit it , that's what I did , and I did not receive any automatic email ,you will notice after submitting the form you get a ROD number on the same page ,no need to call them I requested document on Friday ,No email received ,Received them on Tuesday took about 3 days,

The ROD number itself is the confirmation that the request is dealt with ASAP,
if you included a recorded delivery envelope with your application with a tracking number and you kept that number they will use the same envelope so just check online in the post office website (Track and Trace)

Hi, Many thanks for your response.
Do you still wait for your application approval? If you already received you British nationality, how long did it take to get your approval letter after getting back of your passport? Can it delay the naturalisation progress, if using this documents return service?

when they return your document passport +BRP they will include a letter stating the following: Please find enclosed your documents as requested ….please don t send them again ..if we need them we will write to you requesting them. They carry on processing your application they don t need the originals they just take copies and return them .

I haven t received an outcome yet still waiting .
