Hi,
I was accepted into a program that is willing to help me to apply for a Tier 1 Exceptional talent visa. I see no problem with meeting the criteria for Tier 1 visa however I am currently on a Tier 2 employer sponsored visa.
Normally I would wait to receive my Tier 1 visa before resigning from my job (just in case the Tier 1 visa falls through). I also read on this forum that quitting a job without a new visa in hand is bad. I was however told to resign from my job immediately (which gives me 60 days to remain in the UK) then spend this time applying for the TechNation endorsement followed by a Tier 1 visa. The typical timelines for switching from Tier 2 to Tier 1 Exceptional talent is up to 8 weeks, and 18 working days for the endorsement to be processed.
My main concern is that quitting my job effectively denies me the right to live or work in the UK and if there are delays in the issuing of a Tier 1 visa, or worse if the visa is denied, I will be worse off than my current position.
Any advise on how to handle this situation?
