MN1 form application questions

Post by Flamboyant » Mon May 27, 2019 11:53 pm

Hi Team,

I am new here, but I have been visiting the forums in the past and a-lot of queries got resolved. I am looking for the following answers if someone can guide me through

I am currently holding an ILR visa, My daughter was born in UK ( 9 months) at the time when my application was under consideration, so I didn't apply for her passport (She's got the birth certificate). I waited for the time until I have received my ILR. Since I have now got the ILR I am looking to gain knowledge on the process where I could get my child registered for the BC. Please see below my questions

1) I have heard about the online form now, if someone can share the link
2) the overall process, Incase if I need to create an online account etc
3) how much time it will take to get the registration done along with the passport
4) documents required
5) Is everything online now? Has anyone applied through the online process?

Thank you

MN1 form application for Child

Post by Flamboyant » Wed May 29, 2019 9:41 pm

Hi All,

I wanted to understand the process to apply for a registration under section 1(3)

I have been granted ILR just recently, My child was born in aug 2018 at the time I applied for my ILR so she's only having the birth certificate at the moment. I wanted to ask if this is sufficient enough for me to go ahead with the registration?

There's a question where they have asked about the 1.9 Present nationality: shall I write here anything (default from parents) or shall I leave that alone.

Secondly my assumption is that I need to apply under section 1 (3) double checking if my understanding is correct.

Thirdly, the reference that are required along their signatures through paper application, how they will do it online?

lastly, If you can list the sequence of the application steps that I need to follow in order to apply for the registration. Do I need to visit any premium service for docs scan and submissions?

Thank you

Yes with your ILR

Your child has your nationality as she was born before you got ILR
Secondly my assumption is that I need to apply under section 1 (3) double checking if my understanding is correct.
That is the section in the nationality law, yes
Thirdly, the reference that are required along their signatures through paper application, how they will do it online?
They generally will be scanned and uploaded
lastly, If you can list the sequence of the application steps that I need to follow in order to apply for the registration. Do I need to visit any premium service for docs scan and submissions?
Apply for MN1 online and the system will tell you all the necessary steps

Hi Zimba,

I am stuck with the application with couple of questions.

In online application, they have asked for the following questions.

1) Does the child have a passport? Ans: No, and I have selected the option Since she was born in UK.
2) Does the child have a national identity card? No, and they have asked for the reason…?

I shall go back to my question, whether a child need an ID card or passport if he/she is born in the UK under section 1(3) ? If no then what should be the most appropriate ans for this?

I can go ahead and apply for the ID card but then the pre-req is that the child should have a passport first.

A UK born child does not a passport or a national I'd card. Simply answer no.

Many thanks.

For the referees, I am also having some difficulties, I have gone through the other posts and found out a list of people that comes under professionals

For my kids who’s 9 months, can someone who’s an engineer working here in UK having a british passport, acts as a referee? He only knows my daughter through me. (Friend/colleague)

For second reference: it can be any one to my understanding.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

For child, it has to be a professional who dealt with the child like a Doctor or Nurse

Thanks.

I have gone back to the application where they are asking for:

Reason for not providing identification documents
Explain why you are unable to provide either a valid national identity card or a travel document.
Proof of identity is usually required to make a valid application.

Since you have answered just say NO, I am wondering if I should write,

''Not applicable, since the child was born in UK as already answered in the previous question'' or something on the same line. Please advice.

Hello team,

I was waiting for a response. I have now completed the form, at the end they have asked to check for the documents that I need to send for application consideration, and in that, they have mentioned that if the child does not have the passport, you must provide either the travel doc or the National ID card.

I am wondering if this is a mandatory doc or Shall I leave it as it is and proceed with the application submission?

Please advice

It is not mandatory for UK born children.

Please note that the same form is used for all routes of registration. Not only UK born children.
