English Language Degree

Post by fritzy » Sat Jun 08, 2019 7:14 pm

Hi, and thank you in advance for your support.

I am in the process of applying for citizenship and have resided and worked in the UK for almost 20 years. I now have a permanent residence card, completed my Life in the UK test but my degree obtained is a technical one and equivalent to a BTEC/SQA Higher National Diploma or Foundation Degree standard according to UK NARIC. Will this suffice in support of my application? I have booked a B1 Life Skills course just in case but wanted to be sure. Seems strange after 20 years I have to prove my English when born and bred English but do not qualify on country of origin according the HO list.

Thanks,
Ray

Your qualification is not sufficient. It has to be a full undergraduate or higher degree or you need the English test.

Thank you for your quick reply. I didn't think so but just wanted to be sure. HO are pretty specific about requirements having found out the hard way for the permanent residence application. Much appreciated.
