Travel abroad on refugee travel document while BC application pending

Post by CULLINAN » Mon Jul 08, 2019 11:18 pm

Dear all,

Note: (This question is on behalf of my father in law)

His BC application is still pending but he wants to travel abroad.

As per my understanding once the BC application is approved the current ILR - BRP - (Refugee Settlement) will be invalid.

Question: If it happens, that his BC application is approved while he is outside UK, will he have any issues returning back to UK on the current ILR - BRP or that would be invalid?

Please advise.

Thank you.

He will only be British once the ceremony has been attended - the approval letter is just that, so yes he can travel on his current documents without any issues.

Thank you for your quick reply. So that means his ILR- BRP will be valid until the ceremony is attended?

Thank you
