Hi there.
I'm planning on visiting my girlfriend who recently moved to the UK with her family. She is an EU national (German) and has applied for an EU settle scheme. Now before I book any airline tickets I'd like to know if I'm first eligible for the visa and wont be rejected.
I plan on going up from 1st November to 1st February (3 months). She has a job that pays 2000 pounds per month and her mother gets around 2100 per month. Her father is moving up to join them in August and his salary range is around 80000 pounds. They are currently on a 3 month rent agreement.
I'd be applying based on my savings and my girlfriend would be sponsoring me. I've calculated that I'd be able to save R28000 by end of October. I've deducted personal expense and flight tickets so I'd be taking around R14000 up to the UK for 3 months (£267 per month).
Now I dont know if it would affect my visa but she's working a full time monday to friday 8-5 job. Will the authorities decline me because I'd only be able to see her after work or on weekends? We both are also young (20 and 19). Her and her family would however be sponsoring some excursion money while I'm up there whilst they work. The reason I want to visit is to see her and spend our birthdays together. (I'm 21 in November and she's 20 in January). Also we're on long distance so we wont get much of a chance any other time. I would show that I have a return ticket and that I'd continue my studies once I'm back (I'm completing my commercial pilot licence here in South Africa). Is it possible to add more sponsors ie her parents just to give more security that I wont be lumbered on the streets? She is living with her parents too. Also would a 3 month rent agreement be sufficient enough? Her and her family only recently started working so there would only be 3 months of financial history in the UK to support me. And also if she puts some money I to my account to help out with tickets and expenses would the authorities see this as some fraudulent act? My only intention is to see her and spend time with her as well as experience london as I wont be able to get the opportunity again. Thereafter she'd be visiting me like once a year. Is there any advice or info you could give me? I really appreciate your time!
