Can I say yet that I am now also Irish?

Give them a call and let them know your new address, I have always found it really easy to get through to them (thanks to Lee's advice of calling on a Wednesday) and always very helpful.

Awesome for you! Hopefully thst is something that will happen for more of us, as we're wait on the edge of our seats. Approaching 1 year, less 2 weeks now!
That's great news. Congratulations. Thanks for checking in and letting us all know. Best of luck with the passport application stage.
Thanks Sulla,Sulla wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 11:52 pmHi Jaxx,Jaxx22 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 1:05 pmWell I spoke to a very nice person at FBR today and have been told they are just waiting for my certificate to be printed![]()

Yes, I think you can. Warm congratulations to you. I hope that your certificate gets printed soon and will be in your hands in a few weeks. Did you ask what date you were added to the FBR?

I filed my FBR in May of 2018. I totally understand that between Brexit and Trump, DFTA is wildly overrun.
That said, I have since moved, and I am really afraid that if/when any correspondence gets sent to me, I won't get it forwarded.
I tried calling, and the voicemail system doesn't allow messages to be left. How can I get my contact information updated?
Thanks for any and all help.

Could you possibly be more specific with your application received date? I want to add it to the list. As a May 2018 applicant, you will be joining Jacqui as having experienced one of the longest waits. Did you have to submit other documents later or have clarification requests?
It's fine. I have corrected that. Your wait time seems much more reasonable now and you should be in line for some news soon.
Has DFA or anyone else in the government ever officially suggested a link between Brexit or Trump and increased FBR applicants? This has been conjecture of people here at the least. But have there been any statements from those who actually know? There have been statements about increased passport applications. But I don't recall anything about FBR specifically.
Woohoo! Congrats, that's excellent news!Laurie9434 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2019 7:35 amHi everyone!!

Yes, I was told over the phone several months ago and several times before that, brexit is the leading cause of the delays, nothing about trump.rolevelyn wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2019 1:19 amHas DFA or anyone else in the government ever officially suggested a link between Brexit or Trump and increased FBR applicants? Hi Lee,Lee2521 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2019 10:35 am
I did give the FBR a call yesterday at 14.30pm GMT and got straight through and was told the same message the e-mail you received states 6 months to receive your FBR but due to the high numbers of applications procesiing is taking 12 months . I asked when should I check in ? FBR Staff member - If you haven't heard anyhting by February next year give them a call (12 months) .
It's very disappointing and I was expecting a wait but I thought with the changes at the FBR section that would or might start processiing applications at a faster rate .
Added in. Thanks for sharing your information.
Eowyn wrote: ↑Sun Mar 24, 2019 1:15 pmHello,
New here. Thought I'd post my timeline.
Applied by post to Edinburgh in Oct 2018. Got an e-mail to say my witness was not on the approved list and could I resubmit my application with an approved witness, which I did. My application was received on 20th Nov 2018.
I hadn't heard anything since, and started to panic, wondering if they had indeed received it or if my new witness was approved, so I e-mailed Edinburgh on the 2nd March to check progress.
They replied to tell me that foreign birth applications were now being processed in Dublin, and gave me a number to call and also the link to the webchat option. I went on the webchat but they just said they only dealt with passport applications and I'd need to call if I wanted an update.
I didn't phone, however on Thurs 21st March (like a few other Edinburgh applicants I gather?), I got an e-mail from DFA Dublin to say that they had received my application and supporting documentation, and that applications can take up to 6 months!
So, it seems like a whole load of Edinburgh applications have been shipped over to Dublin, and they've only now got round to opening the box? It feels like I've wasted 4 months! Hoping they can get round to them quickly, but no idea how the system works!
I am so sorry. I meant to x it out after I copied and pasted it. Then forgot. My apologies..CR001 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2019 8:14 amKindly do not name officials on the forum.Laurie9434 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2019 7:35 amHi everyone!!

Also in USA, just outside of Boston, MA) it was exactly 2 weeks and 1 day. Chances are that your certificate was mailed a few days before you got the email. Did you ever subscribe to the app we discussed?
