Settled status under EEA and no BRP

Post by Soveryconfused2019 » Sun Aug 18, 2019 11:14 am

Hi guys,
I have read so many stories here and thought my application would be much easier since the EU Settlement Scheme has been introduced... But as I was going through the online form, I have started doubting myself...
My background is: EU citizen, lived in the UK over a decade, married to a British citizen. Worked for over a decade as well. Had the weird permit for EU WPS back in 2008, but that is not relevant in this case anyway. Never had a Residence Permit, because of EU citizenship.
Applied for the settled status via EU Settlement Scheme in January 2019. Got the settled status granted within less than 24 hours.
Because I am married to a British citizen, I can apply for naturalisation pretty much immediately, without waiting 12 months, and use any information going back 3 years to confirm my residence etc.
Now - I am applying for the citizenship under the rules of the EU Settlement Scheme and do not have the BRP.
Do I have to have it or not seeing as I will be going to one of the Sopra places to get my biometric details taken anyway?
Has anyone here had gone through the process without the BRP but with the settled status?

You don't need a BRP card first to apply for citizenship if you have settled status.

soveryconfused2019, I am in exactly the same situation, and also confused. In one place on the government website it says you need either PR card or settled status, then in the application itself there is no "or" or "one of".
I am spending this lovely afternoon trying to crack on with the application and I am getting nowhere ...
