Referee Clarification

Hello,

First post here. I've realised I can register as a British citizen after having ilr most of my life. I just have a quick question regarding referees. I apparently do not know many professional people, but included on the list is 'local government officer'
I work for the local council (local authority) in the customer contact centre and I'm quite sure my manager would be a referee. Can she be classified as a 'local government officer'?

The list is hardly specific and I'm off work for the next two weeks so I could do without obsessing whether she will do or if I need to start befriending lawyers, accountants and pilots!

Yes. People who work in the council are local government officers. A referee must have known you personally for at least 3 years
