British Citizenship child under 18 after parents got ILR

Post by helpu279 » Fri Aug 30, 2019 6:09 pm

Dear All,
I just submitted MN1 online form for my son. He was born here last year June 2018 while I had Tier 1 Visa. Now I have ILR visa just received on 18 Aug 2019. But I think I made a mistake while I submitted MN1 online form for my child.

Mistakes are given below: (I answered the following question like this)

1. Have you had settlement in the UK? Yes (Which is for my son, but I did not apply for him when I applied for my ILR visa, so he doesn't have any settlement visa). I thought they were asking for parents, after submitting, I realize this question is for my son. So answer should be NO. How can I correct this?

2. What type of settlement do you have? Indefinite leave to remain (ILR) (This was my answer, but my son doesn't have any)

3. Date you gained settled status in the UK: 13 August 2019 (This is when I got my ILR )

Parents Immigration status:

4. Are you relying on your parent's permanent residence (either as an EEA National or the family member of an EEA National) as evidence of their settled status in the United Kingdom? NO (I put NO here , but I think answer should be Yes)

And Finally, I put my Accountant as his (my son) first referee and one of our family friend as his (my son) 2nd referee.

Can I make any correction now or how can I make the amendment? Please advise. Thanks everyone in advance.

I think I mentioned in my 1st line. He was born here in London (June 2018). Is there any chance I can make some changes in the application form after submission? Thanks

You cannot change your answers once the form has been submitted.

1 to 3 if you have not yet attended the biometrics appointment, add a cover letter explaining your error briefly.

On 4, you have answered correctly by saying NO. You are not an EU citizen with or or settled status.

Dear CR001. Thanks for your quick reply. No I haven'e taken my son to the biometrics yet, his appointment booked on 13/9/2019 (Friday). Do you think Sopra will be able to make changes in the application form or to provide covering letter is fine. Though I am going to write a cover letter anyway.

No, sopra cannot change the orm for you
When you submit it is sent to ho as complete and cannot be edited.

Just write a short letter. Don't overthink this.
