Join application for UK naturalisation - related referees

Dear all,

I am currently filling the online forms for naturalisation. I will be including my wife as a dependent in the same application, although I understand both forms are to be assessed individually on their own merits even though their are submitted together. One of the referees in my form is related (by marriage) to one of the referees in my wife's form, but neither of them is related to the other referees (either for myself or my wife). Am I correct in understanding that the requirement for referees not to be related is per form (ie my two referees and my wife's two referees cannot be related to each other) but it does not matter if the referees are related across the forms in the same application (ie one of my referees is related to one of my wife's referees)?

I think that is correct. Your wife's application is separate so it doesn't matter if referees are related between the two applications forms
