It is the employer's job to find the 'most suitable' SOC. They need to look at the possibilities and then decide what the best fit is according to the job description. We don't have access to YOUR job description. 'Commutations' (assume you mean communications?) covers a HUGE variety of roles, activities that it would be irresponsible for us to make assumptions about the most appropriate SOC as we don't know your specific circumstances.yabyat wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2019 1:49 pmI'm aware that a commutations job would fall under public relations category, however I'm not sure whether it's that same across all fields. The regular SOC code for a PR job is 2472 [Public relations professionals], but what if I am applying for a communications job at a university for instance, does the SOC code 2317 [Senior professionals of educational establishments] apply instead? The confusion is arising from the example job tasks under SOC code 2317, which states: "assists with recruitment, public relations and marketing activities". Can you please indicate which would be a suitable code in the case of a communications officer/manager job at a university? Thank you.
