breakdown

Post by london119 » Wed Dec 04, 2019 7:05 pm

Hi,

I understand for marriage breakdown, you need to write to ukba marriage curtailment team.

My question is is there a way to call or email them to notify them of breakdown?

Thank you

Thank you for your reply.

Apart from the above that you mentioned, is there a way to call ukvi or email them notifying breakdown.

Appreciate your kind help.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

Thank you both.

I am required to give my ex-partner's address when letting them know of breakdown, if I do not know the address what should I do?

Thank you

The form in the above link doesn't ask any address. Also be known you won't be notified about curtailment.

Hi,

I know the form does not ask for address but I believe I need to write  letter to HO along with the form, providing information regarding my and my ex-partners information such as name, dob, passport no., address, HO reference etc.

Please see below for your reference.

I would appreciate if you could guide me answering my earlier query which is if I do not know the address what should I do in the letter?

Thank you

Just say that you don't know the address. But before doing so be remembered that if later you both want to reconcile then have to re-apply the same visa from abroad.

Thank you.

in that HO website there are two forms. One is Public statement and the other one is consent for. I understand that the consent form is not mandatory to provide but is there any disadvantage not to provide it?

Thank you again

Both are almost same

Forms you must send with your letter
Include one of these forms with your letter - use the:

public statement if you don’t want the Home Office to tell your ex-partner any details from your letter
consent form if you’re happy for the Home Office to tell your ex-partner details from your letter
Both forms give the Home Office permission to contact your ex-partner at the address you give.

Thank you for your kind help.

I know it is difficult to know but do you have any idea how long in general HO takes to curtail since it is reported?

No timeline for that and other than him/her no one will be notified.

Than you Seagul,

Just wanted to double check, are you saying once I report it, neither me nor my ex-partner will be communicated on curtailment.

I heard that before the curtailment happens HO sends a letter to the person who's visa will be curtailed.

Thank you for your kind help.

Only he/she will be notified. However if you have the copy of his/her BRP card then may check its status at below:

Thank you both,

One question, how do you think they will notify ex if I have not managed to provide an address of the ex when reported of the breakdown.

Whatever postal/email address they will have in their system they will just write it there.
