Advise needed on French Visa...

Post by marko123 » Wed Aug 06, 2008 11:21 pm

Hi,

Myself (uk citizen) and my girlfriend (russian citizen with UK residency) had planned to get the eurostar to paris in three weeks time and stay for 3 nights then fly onto rome for 9 days.

Unfortunately we made a mistake applying for the visa from the french consulate via post even though we live in london (something they don't allow unless you live outside the capital).

We have just received a letter back advising the application had been unsuccselful for this reason. When we try to call the automated number at the embassy the first available appointment is after our departure date. We have paid for all accomodation plus travel to paris, rome and our return to the UK.

We are almost resigned to contact one of the many companies that offer 'express' processing of visa applications but at 3 times the amount we have paid already paid for the orifinal visa it seems wrong!

Are there any other options open to us?

Thank you in advance.

Mark

Already called the German/Dutch embassies and both are unable to see us until after departure date unfortunately.
