Alternatively If your partner is working and earning £18600 then you can use that income alone with less paper work.hillam wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 4:37 amI started work in July last year(2018) so prior to that i was not working.July this year (2019) is I year and i thought i could do self assessment for last year which in my case will be July -July as that's when i started working. Is is mandatory you have to wait till the end of tax year to do tax return.can i not do it now as i have already completed 1 year being self employed and do the switch application?
Thanks guys
I am not sure what you are talking about. You do not get to define your own tax year. A tax year runs from April to April and that is the period of the self assessment.hillam wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 4:37 amI started work in July last year(2018) so prior to that i was not working.July this year (2019) is I year and i thought i could do self assessment for last year which in my case will be July -July as that's when i started working. Is is mandatory you have to wait till the end of tax year to do tax return.can i not do it now as i have already completed 1 year being self employed and do the switch application?

For counting the self employment income it must either belongs to last full financial year or is from the average of last 2 full financial years which seems like not to be a case in your situation i am afraid.hillam wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 5:42 amHi guys
First i must admit this forum has been God sent to many myself included as i got my first visa through advise given by legendary of this forum.
I need help guys hope someone can shed some light. On 2017 i was granted 2.5yrs on 10yr partner route which is expiring on May 4th.and instead of applying for extension i want to switch to 5yrs route (Flr M.) First year was working cash in hand. For the last 3 months i been working with Agency and before that i was self employed for 8 months.my question is can i combine earnings from Agency and self employment to meet financial threshold 18600?.i dont have 6 months payslips as i will be with agency 4 months by time to apply.what category of financial threshold do i fall? Do i also have to include my partner wages to the threshold?
Thanks guys
You cannot use a source of income if the activity is not ongoing at the time of application. There is huge UKVI guide on this subject.hillam wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 6:21 amThanks seagul
Just a quick qustion. Can i combine earnings for full year to meet up the financial threshold ?that is self employed 8 months + Agency works 4 months. The self employed job is finished but Agency weekly pay is ongoing.
Any more ideas will be appreciated
Means you are no longer a self employed person because of a paye worker means your self employment activity isn't active and won't be ongoing at the date of application.
The guide explicitly tells you that you need to provide all sorts of evidence to prove your ongoing self employment activity.
If you do not have the required income evidence, then you have no option but to apply under FLR(FP) and switch to the 10 year route
In my opinion it will not only be a costly risk apart of financial wise but also a dangerous manoeuvre because UKVI caseworker excercise zero discretion especially where financial requirement isn't met. Moreover, refusal of FLRM doesn't always results in granting the flrfp rather the application can be refused on grounds of having no insurmountable obstacles in settling back home/outside of UK with family. Therefore, better to extend your existing visa under similar category unless you and/or partner has cash savings and if not then after few months if you will have surplus funds than may switch into flrm 5 years of route. Also usually a sound mind person with healthy immigration history having average level of literacy to laptop/smartphone & English language doesn't need solicitor with the help of board & other official guidance.hillam wrote: ↑Wed Mar 25, 2020 10:33 amThanks CR001,zimba,seagul for your advises gents
About switching from 10yr to 5yr partner route, and as i understand from you since i don't have 6 months pay slip i can only apply for another flr fp.(1)Does that mean first extension?
(2)Can i risky it and apply to switch to 5yr ?
(3)If they grant me another flr fp and then switch 2 months later how much fees and charges will i have to pay?
With leave expiring 16th May, I will be 3 payslips short and hence i ask if i can risky it and provide cover letter for the shortage of payslips?
(4) How easy to make the application? solicitor charging £1200 which i don't have.
Thanks guys
The supporting documents must not be dated after the date of application. Therefore, better to apply flrfp in timely and then more likely you won't get decision probably for the next few months. In that case once you will get your missing payslip and A1 English language test then may vary into flrm application.
