Timeline to find employment in UK

I was just wondering whether there is a fixed timeline (eg. 12 months) within which I need to find proper employment in the UK and show that I am self reliant. I know that HSMP had a clause like this, but does Tier 1 visas also have a stipulation along the same lines???

not any more... TIER 1 is based on money you earn for the given 2yr period and must meet 75pts in all in order to get your extension.

with regards to Job hunting, it varies others get ASAP while the rest just churns along counting days...turning into weeks then month/s. Plus sometimes LADYLUCK plays a bit during the process.

but one thing's sure...keep sending those applications to your target companies... you'll never know
